Restarting the Touchscreen Tesla Model Y

If your touchscreen becomes unresponsive or exhibits unexpected behaviour, you can restart it to see if the problem is resolved.

Important Note: Restart the touchscreen only when the vehicle is stopped and in Park. During the restart, the car's status display, safety alerts, backup camera, and other features will be unavailable.

  1. Put the vehicle into Park.
  2. Hold down both steering wheel scroll buttons until the touchscreen turns black.
  3. The Tesla logo displays after a few seconds. Allow around 30 seconds for the touchscreen to reactivate. Try power cycling the vehicle if the touchscreen is still unresponsive or behaving strangely after a few minutes.

Note: Using the scroll buttons to restart the touchscreen does not turn the Model Y off and on.
