The Tesla Cybertruck may appear to have been dropped off by an extraterrestrial civilisation, but it has the power to compete with any of the top-selling pickup trucks. Tesla's all-electric truck is pretty rugged, with a sharp-edged body constructed of scratch- and dent-resistant stainless steel. The Cybertruck can tow up to 14,000 pounds and has a driving range of 500 miles or more, thanks to its all-wheel drive. While it is true for the most costly model, the lowest affordable model starts at $39,900. Of course, we still don't know much about the Cybertruck, including when it will be available for purchase.
Tesla is expanding its lineup to include a pickup truck, which is one of America's most popular body shapes. Given how well trucks sell in this nation, the Cybertruck gives the company a potentially strong seller with extremely excellent metrics for both an EV and a pickup. Although Ford and GM vow they'll have electrified versions of their own within the next two years, the Bollinger B2 and Rivian R1T are the Tesla's only other competitors.
Different Configurations
The Cybertruck will be offered in three different configurations, each of which is determined by the number of electric motors. While all-wheel drive is standard on all models save the single-motor model, each extra motor increases acceleration, driving range, and towing capability.
Not one, not two, but three electric motors are available for the Cybertruck. The Single Motor is priced at $39,900, the Dual Motor at $49,900 and the Tri Motor at $69,900.
Engine and Performance
The two- and three-motor variants feature all-wheel drive, while the single-motor vehicle has rear-wheel drive. Tesla promises it will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 110 mph. According to reports, the dual-motor Cybertruck will hit 60 mph in just 4.5 ticks and achieve a top speed of 120 mph. The three-motor vehicle, which Tesla claims could essentially teleport from zero to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds (!) with a top speed of 130 mph, will appeal to those looking for the ultimate performance. The air suspension on all Cybertrucks is adjustable and may be raised or lowered on the fly.
Towing and Payload
If the Cybertruck can haul as much as Tesla claims, it will outperform popular alternatives like the Ram 1500 in terms of maximum towing capacity. While single- and dual-motor Teslas have maximum towing capacities of 7500 and 10,000 pounds, versions with a third motor will be able to haul 14,000 pounds. In addition, each Cybertruck's 6.5-foot cargo bed can carry 3500 pounds.
Interior and Cargo
Those who thought the Tesla Model 3's cabin was sparse would have the same opinion when they see the Cybertruck's. While many standard features and options are yet to be revealed, the first pictures show a slab-like dashboard with a single huge touchscreen as the focal point. Its squared-off steering wheel appears to contain an illuminated display, but no confirmation has been given. The Cybertruck will also have seating for up to six people and a cargo bed with a volume of 100 cubic feet. It also boasts a clever slide-out tailgate that doubles as a loading ramp for four-wheelers and motorcycles.
Fuel Economy and MPG
We can only go by Tesla's preliminary estimates because the EPA hasn't released any official ratings for the Cybertruck. Similarly, we'll have to wait till we get our hands on a true production model before we can put its ambitious maximum driving range to the test. Charging
A charging cable with a capacity of 250 kW will be included with each model. It will, of course, have access to Tesla's extensive network of Superchargers. The driving range varies depending on the number of motors, but Tesla claims that a single motor can go 250 miles or more, dual motors can travel 300 miles or more, and the top-tier tri-motor system can travel more than 500 miles on a single charge.
