Restarting the Touchscreen Tesla Model S
If your touchscreen becomes unresponsive or exhibits unexpected behaviour, you can restart it to see if the problem is resolved.
Note: Restarting the touchscreen should only be done when the car is in Park to guarantee the safety of the occupants and other road users.
- Put the vehicle into Park.
- Press down on both steering wheel scroll buttons until the touchscreen goes black.
- After a couple of seconds, the Tesla logo will display. Wait for about 30 seconds in which time the touchscreen will restart. If the touchscreen remains unresponsive or still shows abnormal behavior after a few minutes, try powering cycling the vehicle.
Note: Using the scroll buttons to restart the touchscreen does not turn the Model S off and on.
