Tesla CEO, Elon Musk was considered as weird when he first announced the Cybertruck, and lately, he is showing up with new thoughts and comments on this extraordinary, super vehicle.
Automotive experts are concerned about Musk not taking into consideration the opinion of his customers who have polarized thoughts about the futuristic design.
The most important thing, according to Musk, was creating a functional truck with a weird design that resembles the vehicles from sci-fi movies.
After all, when you are a genius carmaker with the best-quality vehicles on the market worldwide, you can allow yourself and your team a little playfulness in the design.
“We just made a car we thought was awesome and looks super weird. I just wanted to make a futuristic battle tank — something that looks like it could come out of Blade Runner or Aliens or something like that but was also highly functional,” Musk replied when Automotive News podcast people asked him about the customer research.
Even before revealing Cybertruck’s look, Musk said that if people don’t like it, the company has no problem building a regular-looking truck, but according to him, all the trucks on the market look alike and have similar designs.
His idea to build a unique truck that has high-quality functions and better performance than all the trucks on the market is coming to fruition as Tesla already has 500,000 reservations for Cybertruck.
Smashing boulders, pulling tree stumps, towing a boat or a horse trailer, off-roading, driving through the most challenging terrains are some purposes of this fantastic truck, according to Musk.
“We’re really, fundamentally making this truck as a North American ass-kicker, basically. The goal is to kick the most amount of ass possible with this truck. Things seem more apocalyptic these days. Let me tell you, the truck you want in the apocalypse is the Cybertruck.”
Quite confident about the performance and the functionality of the new vehicle, Tesla will have the truck ready for sale in 2021, at a starting price of $50,000 with 500 miles of range per single charge.
As time goes by, the world seems to be turning into a real-life apocalyptic scenario, and having a powerful truck of this kind will be a must.
