Installing Paint Protection Film Kit Tesla Model 3

Perform the following to install the Paint Protective Film Kit :
Caution: It is recommended to apply the protection film kit only when it is dry and warm. After completing the process, it is advisable to avoid washing the car or driving in the rain within a 24-hour period.

  • Clean the area with soap appropriate for vehicles and water, and then thoroughly dry the area with a clean microfiber towel. It is important that any dirt and grease is completely removed.
  • Mix a slip solution with the ratio of 85% water and 15% baby shampoo in a spray bottle or similar type container. Shake the solution so it is properly mixed.
  • Liberally apply the solution to the area as well as the LH lower and LH upper pieces of the film.
  • Take the LH lower film away from the backing while spraying the slip solution as you release it.

Caution: The LH and RH pieces are not interchangeable; carefully apply the sticky backing to the paint of the car and follow the contour of the body.

  • Stick the LH lower film to the rocker panel, and align the bottom of the sticker with the bottom of the rocker panel and the rear of the sticker with the rear quarter panel of the car.

Note: It is necessary to apply the slip solution to move the film so it can be aligned according to the car's contours and that all the film will stick to the paint.

Caution: Allow no part of the film to dangle over the side of the vehicle. The film should not be adhered to the body line between the rocker panel and the quarter panel (dog leg).

  • Remove any air bubbles between the film and the paint with the squeegee once the film is properly positioned.
  • Release the LH top film from the backing while applying the slip solution.
  • Attach the LH upper film to the quarter panel by aligning the bottom of the sticker with the top of the LH lower sticker and the back of the sticker with the vehicle's back quarter panel.

  • On the RH side, repeat steps 3–9.
