“Our new pricing is made possible by several improvements, such as moving to recommending standard sizes that customers can order with one click online and the reduction of customer acquisition costs through the automation of processes. Solar Roof installations roughly tripled in Q2 compared to Q1. We continue to expand our installation team to increase the deployment rate.”
The base solar 4.08kW system starts at about $8,200 if you don’t take any incentives into account. The bigger solar roof systems have seen a price increase because they become more cost-effective per watt as their size is bigger to augment capacity.
Tesla’s latest pricing for the larger systems, before any incentives are deducted, are listed below:
- Medium 8.16kW solar system increased by $400 to $16,400
- Large 12.24kW solar system increased by $1,100 to $24,600
- Extra Large 16.34kW solar system increased by $2,800 to $32,800
Even though Tesla added a price increase to the bigger solar roof systems, they are also taking part in price matching. So, if you find a cheaper solar installation, Tesla will offer to match it in price.
The solar roof systems works with the Tesla Powerwall.
