Drive to Calibrate Cameras On Tesla Model 3

When using Autopilot functions, the Model 3 must maneuver with extreme precision. As a result, before some features (such as Traffic-Aware Cruise Control or Autosteer) may be used for the first time or after specific Service fixes, the cameras must self-calibrate. A progress indication is provided on the touchscreen for your convenience.

Calibration usually takes 20-25 miles (32-40 km) to complete, however the distance depends on the route and ambient circumstances. Model 3 can calibrate faster when driving on a straight route with clearly visible lane lines. The Autopilot capabilities are ready to utilise once the calibration is finished. Only contact Tesla if your Model 3 hasn't finished the calibration process after 100 miles of driving (160 km).

Note: If you try to utilise a function that isn't available until the calibration procedure is finished, the feature will be disabled and a notification will appear on the touchscreen.

Note: If the cameras are repaired by Tesla, and in some situations, after a software update, the calibration process must be repeated.
