The newest Tesla facility has a US-based location in Austin, Texas. The company has a reputation for building enormous factories, therefore naming them Giga factories. And the new plant in Austin will be aptly named Giga Texas.
In some cases, the facility itself is not gigantic, but the land always has an impressive size.
When looking at a scale that compares Giga Texas with the rest of Tesla plants, it’s clear that the new Tesla facility has colossal proportions.
Early in the morning today, a Tesla Model 3 owner posted a scheme of all Tesla factories around the world, pointing out the enormous size of Giga Texas.
The scheme includes all the facilities, including the factories and plans in the Netherlands, New York, California, Shanghai, Nevada, Berlin, and Texas.
From this graphic presentation, we can see that Tesla is rapidly developing its factories, and with each new facility, the land is getting bigger.
The large Giga Berlin terrain leaves the massive Giga Shanghai in the dust, but when compared to the site in Austin, every facility looks like a kid’s game.
The CEO, Elon Musk, said that the new factory will be built on a 2,000-acre land, only five minutes away from the Austin airport.
The massive land is enough to build the electric vehicle facility and create the “ecological paradise” that Elon Musk is very excited about.
Giga Texas, or as some Tesla enthusiasts prefer to call Terafactory Texas, will be the first Tesla factory open to the public.
Hiking and biking trails, trees, streams, and boardwalks are some of the additional features to this site where visitors can get familiar with the Tesla production and spend time in nature.
According to Musk’s words, “It’s about 2,000 acres and we’re going to make it a factory that is going to be stunning. It’s right on the Colorado River. So we’re actually going to have a boardwalk where there’ll be hiking/biking trail. It’s going to be an ecological paradise, birds in the trees, butterflies, fish in the stream, and it’ll be open to the public as well. So not closed and only-Tesla.”
When comparing Giga Texas to the rest of Tesla’s projects, it’s obvious that this place could easily turn into the first Tesla City, where people can see the lineup of the company’s vehicles and energy products.
On top of all, Giga Texas will be a factory running on sustainable power, giving an example to the world on how to manage their facilities without damaging the environment with their hyperproduction.
